D&D Encourages a Love of Learning

At our sister company, GeekLife game store, we’re continually adding more youth role-playing game events not just because they’re fun, but also because they are an exceedingly accessible way for young minds to learn a variety of subjects and skills. In addition to problem solving, social interactions and spacial-relations, D&D involves a little bit of science and a lot of math.

If you’ve been curious about the benefits of role-playing games like Dungeons & Dragons, this is an excellent article.

“Participation in narrative role play can open up interests in topics such as mathematics, science, history, culture, ethics, critical reading, and media production. When D&D and its cousins are played in an inviting, encouraging, compassionate, and intellectually engaged environment, play opens the door to truly amazing possibilities for learning.”
